Dear Editor:

A rejection is cool.  I understand, I get it, and no worries or hard feelings.  Even a "form letter" type of rejection is cool.  Here's what's not so cool: For those of us (meaning me) who have a last name that could easily be a mistaken for another first name, if the spelling is not carefully read, then just address the rejection: Dear <insert FIRST name here>. I prefer that, than my rejection to read: Dear Vitoria.  Otherwise, we're good.  Great and thanks!

  1. Rejections suck. Rejections that are poorly or impolitely expressed suck double.

  2. I agree Howie, when my name is completely botched I gotta wonder if the work was even read!
